Bones are the supporting structure for our entire body. The mere design of the skeleton is astonishing by itself. There's also things that bones do without us even realizing which makes it even more interesting. Few people know the fact that we had more bones when we were infants than when we're adults. An article by Healthline Parenthood and a youtube video by DK books goes further into this phenomenon.
The Healthline Parenthood article written by Karen Richardson details how and why babies have more bones than adults. The target audience for this audience is clearly towards parents who want to know more about their upcoming child. The message of the article is presented by producing a informative clear article about multiple and various facts about bones. One fact that the article presented was that bones fuse when infants age and this is the result of fewer bones in the body. The article was filled with words and had no other visual appeal. Although, this wasn't a negative on the article because of how much effective information was in it. The article thoroughly explained the process of bone development and ways to enhance it.
The Skeleton Book by DK books also explains why we have fewer bones now but in its own style. The video uses a more visual format instead of a lengthy word filled article and it caters to a different audience. The video's audience is clearly directed towards kids due to its upbeat music, jokes, and friendly presentation. It also got its message across in a short one minute time window and catered even more to the younger audience's attention span. This was an effective visual because it was interesting and straight to the point.
Both sources explained the same concept of bone development but in vastly different methods. The article was more articulate and was going for a more mature audience. On the other hand, the video wanted to give a young audience an interesting and quick fact about bones. The skeleton is just such an interesting concept and intriguing to any individual. Each of them got their message across regardless of the manner they both did it in.
